Big Walk is designed to be walked rather than rushed. The landscape gives your group direction through distant landmarks, towers, buildings and unusual structures. There are no constant quest arrows, so remembering places and building a shared vocabulary is part of the adventure.
World guide
Important locations
These locations are useful for learning the map, finding items and understanding progression.
Tutorial Zone
The starting area where players learn movement, interaction and communication. Each player normally spawns in a separate compartment, while larger groups may have two players next to each other.
Look for simple items, movement banners and the open red-walled area beyond the hallway.Starting Area
The early region containing the first group of challenges, including the Dual Button, Crane, Wooden Pegs and Head Cage puzzles.
Use this area to learn how puzzle rewards and Gourd slots work.Map Room
A central planning location that provides an overview of the entire island.
The room contains the map, compass and a laser pointer. Whiteboards can also be found outside it.Towers
Important landmarks spread around the island. The towers are colored red, green, yellow and blue.
Towers contain items, Gourd holes and navigation equipment such as torches and binoculars.Green Tower
A tower landmark connected to coordinate-based exploration.
The GPS can be found near the Green Tower.Train Stations
Colored station points and rails connect parts of the island after the relevant progression is complete.
Look for red, yellow and green station markers, rails and sliding fast-travel doors.Customization Room
A location where players can change the appearance of other players.
The paintbrush is found here and works with the paint on the wall.Train stations and fast travel
Train tracks and colored station markers become important as the group opens more of the island. Sliding doors near the tracks can provide shortcuts between areas, but access depends on progression and the keys your group has prepared.
Key stations
Some locations contain devices that add a new notch or groove to a Key. A completed Key can be placed into a final key device to unlock a new zone or a shortcut from another part of the island.
Head collection points
Several challenges produce collectible Heads or reveal structures that hold them. Carry the reward back to the appropriate location and use the map, colored landmarks and team callouts to keep track of progress.
Navigation tools
How to find a lost player
- Choose one clear landmark as the meeting point.
- Use a flare, laser pointer or megaphone to signal from a distance.
- Share a short coordinate or direction using the map and compass.
- Stay in place once you have signaled so the rest of the group can find you.
Exploring after dark
The night cycle makes light management part of navigation. Carry a Buoy or Directional Torch, use a Flare Gun when a teammate is far away and look for the glow of another player’s light when regrouping.
